The association of Parents and Teachers in Potters House Academy was founded in 2015 when one Parent, Mr. Thomas Openda visited the school to check on the progress of the students. By then, he had a daughter in class two and another at kindergarten. After a lengthy talk with the class teachers, he had a meeting with the head teacher Mr. Boniface Adongo and they shared several concerns on academic progress and welfare of all the students. This led to them committing on setting up protocols, for handling parent\u2019s concerns.<\/p>

Mr. Openda and Mr. Adongo took up the matter to ensure that the academic environment and welfare of the pupils were addressed appropriately. This led to the inception of Potters House Academy Parents\u2019 Association. A meeting of parents was held and the Ministry of Education directions of establishing of Parents\u2019 association were read and adopted. All classes elected representatives and each class teacher formed a WhatsApp group and added all parents\/guardians, a platform where memos and information from the School could easily reach the parents. Currently there are 33 class representatives.<\/p>

The PTA has actively been involved in academic and welfare issues. A number of times, recommendations made by the PTA have brought huge improvement in the School. These include repair of classrooms and furniture, replacement of broken windows, improvement of the School kitchen and meals. Major works like fixing cabros on the School com\u00adpound and extension of the dormitories and washing\/bathing areas for both boys and girls have been done. Fundraising to assist the needy pupils and those hit by situational calam\u00adities within the School sessions have also been helped.<\/p>

The PTA has been keen on staffing to ensure pupils are attended to all the time. It ensures that when a teacher leaves the school they are replaced as quickly as possible. The PTA also monitors the School transport services to ensure that the services are smooth and safe. The PTA carries out motivation of both teachers and students and holds talks with the pupils on scheduled days, a practice which has brought up classes, which were considered weak. Some parents groups offer social and spiritual support to ensure the stu\u00addents stay on course. The PTA intends to intensify its activities and involvement in all spheres of Potters House Academy Community to make the School become a school of choice not only in the North Rift but also in the whole Country.<\/p>

The PTA is profoundly grateful to the directors, the administration, teachers and non-teaching staff for their commitment in ensuring that Potters House Academy rises to the greater heights. The PTA would like to assure the stakeholders that it is committed to the ideals of the School and that it holds a firm belief that with God\u2019s blessings the wonderful aspirations will be realized.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
